Asado (BBQ), Buenos Aires
Asado is a term used both for a range of barbecue techniques and the social event of having or attending a barbecue in Argentina, where it is an exceptionally popular dish and other parts of South America. An asado usually consists of beef alongside various other meats, which are cooked on a grill, called a parrilla, or an open fire.
I feel like I ate this way a good 90% of the time I was in Argentina and easily consumed up to a kilo of meat at each sitting.
Restaurant staff walk around slapping chunks of meat on the grill at the end of the table and do not stop until you forcefully say you can eat no more!
Delicious accompanied by lots of red wine and fresh tomato salads.
