Canyoning in Queenstown
When visiting Queenstown, the adventure capital of the world, we needed to do something crazy! I wasn’t brave enough for a skydive or bungy jump so we booked a 1/2 day canyoning trip with ‘Canyoning Queenstown (canyoning.co.uk).
We met at the tour office and drove with the rest of the group out to the canyon. We got our wetsuits and safety gear on and took a short walk through an ancient beech forest that hides the high-walled canyon.
Once in, we descended the canyon by zipline, abseiled down rock faces, rappelling waterfalls, jumped into natural pools, swam along narrow passageways through the canyon. It water was absolutely freezing, even though it was the summer season. It was an amazing adventure, completely action-packed and certainly tested my confidence.
These beautiful natural surroundings are amazing and I’m so glad we got to see this part of New Zealand.

I would absolutely recommend Canyoning Queenstown. They are the longest established canyoning operator in the Queenstown region and contribute to local and community activities that promote conservation and environmental sustainability. Great team of people and very security focused.
