Vina Del Mar

Vina Del Mar

I spent the day walking the manicured boulevards lined with palm trees. It’s been fantastic to visit a beach even through the weather hasn’t been great.  I can see how popular this must be in the summer.

There are many stray dogs in South America but most are harmless and one that I met on the beach was adorable.  He walked with me for almost 6 hours, not straying more than a few metres, any passer-by that walked near me he barked at, he completely latched on to me and become protective – it was very cute.

Its official name, which means ‘vineyard by the sea,’ stems from the area’s colonial origins as the hacienda of the Carrera family, the town is well worth a visit, it has a very different feel than Santiago.

I love travelling and try to go 'off the beaten track' as much as possible. I've travelled through out 50+ countries and cannot wait to reach my next target of visiting a total of 100 countries around the world.
